Perfect SMB VPN Router
VPN (Virtual Private Networking) capabilities are a key feature of DrayTek routers. You can use a VPN to connect remote offices and branch offices to HQ, as well as home-based/mobile teleworkers to your workplace. With 300 Mbps typical IPsec VPN throughput and up to 50 continuously active VPN tunnels, the Vigor 2866 is an excellent VPN router.
IPsec Hardware Acceleration improves performance by up to 800 Mbps for up to 16 VPN tunnels, allowing safe encrypted tunnels between sites to take advantage of high-speed Internet connections. It can connect to VPN services, connect remote offices, and handle connections from all types of VPN clients because it supports all common industry standard VPN protocols. DrayTek's SSL VPN and L2TP for both LAN to LAN and Dial-In teleworker VPNs support IPsec IKEv1 and IKEv2 protocols with EAP and XAuth authentication. Teleworkers can also use OpenVPN to connect to the router.
The router's web interface is used to manage user accounts for Dial-In Teleworkers, with mOTP 2-factor authentication provided for IPsec, L2TP, and SSL VPN Teleworker connections. Alternatively, your Active Directory (LDAP), RADIUS, or TACACS+ server can be used to authenticate Dial-In Teleworker connections.
Connect VPNs from Behind NAT
DrayTek's new VPN Matcher service allows Dial-In Teleworkers to connect to DrayTek routers behind NAT, or connect two DrayTek VPN routers that would otherwise be unable to establish a VPN tunnel.
Connect Remote Sites with LAN to LAN VPN
The Vigor 2866 series, which supports up to 32 continuously active VPN tunnels, is perfect for linking several sites or home offices with fast and secure IPsec VPN tunnels. Once connected, users enjoy secure encrypted access to your office/remote resources, including remote desktop, file sharing, and seamless access to other resources and devices.
5+1 Gigabit LAN Ports with VLANS
Up to 6 Gigabit LAN ports are available on the Vigor 2866 series for wired connections to computers, servers, and network attached storage. The Vigor 2866 can connect up to 6 devices directly with a single Ethernet WAN setup, or 5 devices with a dual Ethernet WAN configuration, thanks to its 5 dedicated LAN ports and one flexible LAN/WAN connector.
The Vigor 2866 can manage up to 8 different networks using several LAN subnets and VLANs. For example, an internal network with a second network for visitors to use that is fully independent from the private network. Content Filtering, Firewall, Quality of Service, and Route Policy are all applied to each network.
The router supports full 802.1Q VLAN tagging, allowing these subnets to be transmitted to other VLAN-capable devices, such as the DrayTek VigorSwitch G1080 8-port switch, for additional network ports. The Wireless LAN is also connected to these VLANs, allowing for the creation of Guest and Private networks with the use of various wireless SSIDs. Alternatively, a DrayTek VigorAP wireless access point, such as the VigorAP 903, can be used to achieve the same goal, spanning the router's own wifi as well as any other wireless APs connected to it.
Designed for Central Management
The VigorACS central management platform can manage the Vigor 2866 series (as well as most other DrayTek routers, access points, and switches). This scalable solution gives you complete access, management, and reporting over your entire DrayTek product estate, making it great for dealers/SIs managing customers' devices or any user who wants to know what's going on with theirs. VigorACS additionally has capabilities such as automated/bulk firmware updates, VPN management, and connectivity and other issue alarms.
