I have to say, I have been extremely disappointed with this product. Although this is reputedly a well known & well used card, our own experience has been miserable.
My first point is about the price. I raise this point not because of the high price itself but because the impression given is that you are paying a high price but getting a quality product. I really can't see the evidence of that in what we've received.
In the first instance we bought a non-echo cancelling card. We made that choice based on what we could discover about the need for echo cancellation. It was a bit of a gamble but the cost of echo cancellation was so high that it drove us to take that risk. As it turned out, the ability to use the first card had nothing to do with the actual user experience of the line (whether there was echo or not) but it actually came down to the fact that Net Border Express does not support this card. A fact that was not clearly evident to us beforehand. So if this review does nothing more that alert people to that fact then fine. Net Border Express is not compatible with non-echo cancelling cards. If you are using Net Border Express you must use an echo cancelling card.
So a week later we have the new card but configuring it is another thing. There doesn't seem to be a template for configuration despite it being a recommended component and that is largely due to the fact that we are only using one module instead of two. Again, advice for others - if you need to use this card then specify both modules and your life will be a lot easier.
Because the configuration is considered "nonstandard" we are reliant upon Sangoma for support and this is where I feel let down. We are now 12 days into owning this card (19 days from the first card) and still have no configuration. Consequently, we are unable to install the system for our customer and are having to manage an extremely tense situation.
UK support were in fairness very good but they are not the specialists on this card. Those people are in Ontario and very difficult to keep on track with our case.
Make sure you plan a long lead time if you are planning on deploying this card into a solution.
